Panel Applications |

|
The Polystyrene Panelling system has a variety of applications.
One must remember that the system when finished is comparable to any
any quality building, traditional or otherwise building
component. Therefore, their use can be
adapted to satisfy the following components in building construction:
- Walls: It successfully replaces the traditional block-laying
practices, while providing much better, structural, acoustic,
insulating and ballistic properties.
- Floors: These panels are used the same way hollow pot floors are
laid but have the advantage of a galvanised mesh factory installed and
the polystyrene being custom-made by us. The factory has the
capacity to produce a very wide range of floor panels, to satisfy
almost all structural floor design types. Lengths can reach up to
5.6 metres and a depth of 200mm, making it quite builder-friendly, with
its ease of construction.
- Staircases: Staircases executed in polystyrene are always perfect
because they are factory-precision produced, unevenness in risers,
bulking soffits and inconsistencies in trends or landings are now a
thing of the past.
- Foundation: The system provides immediate solution for making foundation in any type of soil.
- Other applications include customized components produced to
satisfy almost any design requirement. Examples include domes,
cornices, trims or baseline details. All these could be easily
achieved using the Cubic Homes Building System, then with a concrete
spray-applicator, a perfect finish can be achieved, with or without a
limited use of formwork.

Cubic Homes Panels |

Building System: The Polystyrene Panel System is a unique type of
building system which employs the use of expanded polystyrene, to give
the building component its form. Intricate galvanised steel mesh
is fastened by electro-welds on both sides of the polystyrene and bond
together by transverse welds giving the panel a reinforced member that
covers every square metre of the panel. The meshed polystyrene is
then sprayed with concrete to achieve its full structural capability.
Construction Technique: Panels used in walls are erected in a very
simple technique that requires minimal labour and a fraction of the
time. Erection of panels is achieved by simply standing the
polystyrene end to end and fastening them to each other and to the
starter bars in the floor by using binding wire. Then with a
spirit level, they are made plumb and temporary bracing are fixed
before the concrete is sprayed on the required surfaces.
